What is the Festival about ?

The International Festival of Yogic Heritage is a massive yoga event conducted annually by Yogic Heritage. The event is a tribute to Yoga Legends like T. Krishnamacharya, B.K.S Iyengar and K. Pattabhi Jois. The festival stretches for five days offering an opportunity for yoga enthusiasts to be introduced into various aspects of yoga and to learn from the legends of yoga. The festival is a gathering of spiritual leaders, yoga greats, teachers and seekers from across the world. The event showcases various yoga styles and forms in the heritage of yoga. It also includes workshops, satsangs, seminars, healing, martial arts and several cultural activities.

Where is it held ?

The International Festival of Yogic Heritage 2017 is held in Mysuru, an beautiful city perfectly placed on the lap of nature. Mysuru is also the land of renowned Yogacharyas and has several internationally acclaimed Yoga schools. The venue is the 1100 year old Sri Suttur Math, which is situated at the base of the legendary Chamundi Hills. The Math is close to the Mysore Palace, which is an architectural marvel that holds the glittering royal heritage of Mysuru.

What styles or forms of Yoga are included ?

What are the activities included other than Yoga ?

Apart from Yoga sessions, IFYH will have Satsangs by revered spiritual leaders. There are various workshops and seminars which you can choose from. The workshops offer real practical benefits and the seminars help you in knowing theoretical side of various interesting topics. IFYH is also rich in cultural activities such as traditional dance performances, various music concerts, martial arts and much more!

What are the different ticket types available ?

Tickets are categorized on the basis of accommodation:

Experience Pass , with Accommodation – This ticket costs USD 600 and includes food, accommodation, unlimited access to all events and yoga materials.

Save On Accommodation – This ticket costs USD  350 and is excluding accommodation. It includes food and unlimited access to all events and yoga materials. Room pickup/drop facility wouldn’t be available for such tickets.

1 Day Pass without Accommodation – This ticket costs USD  100 and is excluding accommodation. It includes food and unlimited access to all events and yoga materials.

2 Day Pass without Accommodation – This ticket costs USD  180 and is excluding accommodation. It includes food and unlimited access to all events and yoga materials.

3 Day Pass without Accommodation – This ticket costs USD  250 and is excluding accommodation. It includes food and unlimited access to all events and yoga materials.

4 Day Pass without Accommodation – This ticket costs USD  325 and is excluding accommodation. It includes food and unlimited access to all events and yoga materials.

Children’s Pass – This pass is of USD  150 and is for children below the age of 10 years. There will be a dedicated children zone with various fun activities for the kids. Parents can leave their children with the care takers and can attend the sessions without any concerns about their kids.

Do You Have Country Ambassadors with whom I can easily get in touch with ?

Yes, Every country will have an ambassador who is fluent in their respective native language and in English. The ambassadors will be selected from the participants and will be provided with all the required information regarding the festival. Their details will be updated on our website and on our social media pages, earliest by September.

What is the possibility of staying before and after the festival ?

You are welcome to check in a day prior to the event i.e. on 2nd October 2017 and you may check out on 8th October 2017. We will be glad to  guide you in booking a hotel for any other extension in stay.

Should I carry a Yoga Kit ?

You will be given a kit with all the necessary items for the sessions as you check in.

Is hot water available in the rooms ?

Yes, there is a 24/7 hot water availability in the rooms.

Do you have Medical facilities at the venue ?

We have a qualified Doctor and a medical team to support the event.

Is the water safe to drink ?

Filtered water dispensers are installed at the session areas, dining area and other common places. Kindly remember to carry reusable water bottles.

What type of food is provided at the event ?

The food provided is 100% healthy, hygienic Indian Sattvic food.

Do you have Internet and money exchange facilities ?

Yes, you may contact the help desk for money exchange. Internet is available for a nominal charge.

How safe is the place ?

Mysuru is the safest place in India and so is our venue. The venue is protected by a compound wall and is heavily guarded. The event also has the support of the local Police.

What are the other attractions in and around Mysuru ?

Mysuru is a well-travelled tourist destination. It has got palaces, heritage sites, wild life sanctuaries, beaches and trekking spots. The ink below will give you a small idea.

Do you have a dress code ?

Refunds are provided only for bookings made online. Refund amount is subjected to date of cancellation. Please refer the Refund Policy for details.

How good is the accommodation facility ?

Living in harmony without the boundaries of region, language, religion or ethnicity is one of the features of the event. However, we have arranged PRIVATE and SHARED accommodations.

– Private rooms are luxurious single occupancy rooms with a spacious double bed with modern facilities. (Sold Out!)
– Shared rooms are well ventilated, luxurious rooms with two single beds. You will be sharing the room with a like-minded seeker.

Irrespective of the accommodation type, you can access the free shuttle service which connects the venue and your room.

You may also book a hotel of your choice by directly contacting them. In such cases, please make sure that you buy a ticket without accommodation.

Do I need a visa to come to India ?

Yes, you would need a visa. You may write to us on info@yogicheritage.org , if you need a letter from our side stating that you are a participant for the festival.

Should I print the ticket/show on phone ?

Either of these are accepted.

Will I be given a printed pass or ID card at the entry ?

Yes, you will be provided a printed pass at the entry.

Will toiletries be provided ?

Do you have other food corners at the venue ?

Your health and wellbeing is our priority. Hence we don’t allow any other vendor to supply food items during the festival.

Do you have Locker Facilities ?

Yes, you may request for a locker during entry.

Is it a must to have prior experience in yoga ?

Prior experience is not required. The festival equally suits beginners and professionals.

Do you provide additional Site Seeing Options ?

Is it an annual event ?

Yes, IFYH is conducted every year.

Can I opt to lodge outside ?

Yes you may choose to buy the Heritage Pass ( USD600 Save On Accommodation) and stay in a Hotel. Kindly note that the room pickup/drop is not available for such tickets.

Should I carry blankets and sheets ?

Sheets, blankets, towels and toiletries will be provided.

Which is the nearest airport ?

The nearest airport is Bengaluru, Kempegowda International Airport (BLR). The distance Bengaluru to Mysuru is 147 km by road and 126 km by rails. There are several direct trains and AC buses which run between Bengaluru and Mysuru. You may also book a taxi for a reasonable price.

What are the different ways to reach the venue ?

Mysuru is a city very well connected to other major cities in India. The best way will be to reach Bengaluru, which has the nearest Airport. Mysuru is 147 km by road and 126 km by rails from Bengaluru. There are several direct trains and buses connecting Bengaluru and Mysuru. You may also book a taxi for a reasonable price. The venue, Sri Suttur Math is renowned in Mysuru and is hardly 3.2 km away from the main city.
