An eight-year-old girl gazed in wonder at few yoga practitioners performing asanas on a beach. Later she grew up to become one of the most passionate and dedicated Yoga teachers of all times. Tao Porchon-Lynch is one word for grace. An actor, a dancer, a Yoga teacher; she is everything that many of us want to be. Born in 1918, H.H Porchon-Lynch discovered her passion for yoga at a tender age. she mastered Yoga under the prominent Yogacharyas of all times, the great Aurobindo himself, Indira Devi and the most respected and renowned B.K.S Iyengar. She gave up her acting career to completely involve in Yoga and since then she has been a true messenger of Yoga. With her award-winning autobiography, ‘Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master’, she was making a statement that it is never too late to chase your dreams.
Tao Porchon-Lynch has trained 100’s of yoga instructors, since the establishment Westchester Institute of Yoga in 1982. Along with Indira Devi, she attended Yoga for Peace International Peace Conference in Israel, an effort for peace in the middle east through the principles of Yoga. While she performs the classic poses, she is a display of perfection as she draws energy from the universe and spreads it onto the fellow seekers.
